DPF Delete Service

DPF software removal with full pre-work diagnostic — mobile across West & North London.

What the DPF does and why it fails

The diesel particulate filter traps soot from the exhaust. Periodically, the ECU triggers a regeneration cycle — injecting extra fuel to raise exhaust temperatures and burn off the accumulated soot. This works on long motorway runs. On short urban trips, the engine never gets hot enough to complete regeneration, and the filter becomes progressively blocked.

A blocked DPF throws fault codes, forces the car into limp mode, and degrades fuel economy significantly.

What the software change does

We rewrite the ECU calibration to remove the DPF management system. Specifically: regeneration cycles are disabled (no more unscheduled post-injection fuel events), differential pressure sensor monitoring across the filter is removed, soot mass and ash load calculations are deleted, and all DPF-related fault codes are suppressed permanently. The engine fuelling and timing return to their natural calibration without the regen overhead.

This is done in software. If the DPF has already been physically removed or gutted, we confirm the physical state first — a software delete on a car that still has a partially-blocked filter needs to match what is actually in the exhaust system.

We run a full pre-work diagnostic scan on every car. Turbo boost faults, injector faults, or MAF sensor issues that contributed to the DPF failure are flagged before we start — not left for you to discover later.

Frequently Asked Questions

A missing DPF where one was fitted as standard will result in an MOT failure. This modification is for off-road use only.

Yes, for a complete solution, the internal filter usually needs to be removed or the pipe replaced, alongside our software solution.

The software side of a DPF delete typically takes 1-3 hours. If physical removal of the filter element is also required, additional time may be needed depending on the vehicle.

Removing the DPF function can restore lost engine power, improve throttle response, reduce exhaust back-pressure, and improve fuel economy — especially on vehicles that have been struggling with repeated regeneration cycles.

No. Our software solution disables all DPF-related monitoring in the ECU, so no warning lights, fault codes, or limp mode will be triggered after the procedure.

Most diesel vehicles from 2007 onwards fitted with a DPF can have the software disabled. This includes cars, vans, and commercial vehicles from manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, VW, Audi, Ford, Vauxhall, Land Rover, and many more.

Yes. We always save a full backup of the original ECU software before making any modifications. The factory DPF function can be restored at any time.

Yes, DPF delete is often combined with a Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap for maximum performance gains. We can carry out both services in a single visit.
