Car Key Cutting & Programming Service

Transponder keys, smart keys and proximity fobs — programmed and tested on-site.

What key programming covers

Key programming is the process of writing a new key’s transponder or smart key credentials into the vehicle’s security system so it is recognised as an authorised key. This is required when:

  • A key is lost and needs to be replaced
  • An additional key is being added to the vehicle
  • A key fob has failed and the physical key works but remote functions do not
  • After immobiliser work where the key pairing has been reset

We cover transponder keys (chipped keys where the transponder chip communicates with the EWS or PATS module on startup), smart keys (proximity-based keyless entry and start systems), and standard remote key fobs where the receiver needs to be paired.

Platform coverage

We programme keys for BMW (EWS3, EWS4, CAS2, CAS3, CAS4 systems), Mercedes (ESL/EIS), VAG group vehicles (Audi, VW, Skoda, Seat), and a range of other platforms. If you are not sure whether your car is covered, contact us with the make, model, and year.

What to bring

For most platforms, all currently working keys must be present during the programming session — the system reads the existing key set before adding a new one. If all keys are lost, the process is different and takes longer, as the security system needs to be reset before new keys can be accepted. Let us know the situation when you book.

All keys are tested for transponder function, remote locking, and (where applicable) start function before we leave.
